In 2005, ABQAURP introduced a new division, the American Institute for Healthcare Quality (AIHQ). AIHQ was formed to align ABQAURP’s educational process with traditional medical boards and colleges. AIHQ Membership was established for those individuals who are devoted to the concepts and objectives outlined in ABQAURP’s Mission Statement, but are not currently eligible to sit for the certification examination.

Benefits include discounted registration fees for the Certification Exam, all seminars and all courses. The education credits earned for these programs may be applied toward eligibility for the certification exam. In addition, you will receive a complimentary subscription to the ABQAURP-sponsored magazine (Patient Safety & Quality Healthcare). Additionally, AIHQ members are listed in ABQAURP's online directory and have unlimited access to the Member's Only section of the website. AIHQ members can take advantage of employment opportunities through ABQAURP’s participating health care placement companies and prospective networking at continuing education seminars.

Certified in Health Care Quality and Management (CHCQM) and American Institute for Healthcare Quality (AIHQ) Fellowship Designations

Recognizing the achievements of its Certified Diplomates is an important part of the mission of the American Board of Quality Assurance & Utilization Review Physicians, Inc. (ABQAURP). Diplomates of ABQAURP who have shown dedication to their profession and association by continual improvement through education are given one of the Institute’s most prestigious honors, the AIHQ Grade of Fellow. The Fellow Grade recognizes significant achievements and contributions to the Healthcare Quality profession.

To qualify for Fellowship, a member must have attained a Diplomate grade of distinction, shall be a Diplomate member in good standing and be current on all continuing education requirements.

Along with the Diplomate certificate, the Fellow certificate is a tangible representation of your achievements to display to your patients informing them of your commitment, advanced education, and training in Healthcare Quality.

Diplomates who have achieved AIHQ Fellow Grade should add the following designations to their signatures: CHCQM and FAIHQ.
