Quality Health Care:
The importance of health care quality and patient safety has never been more in focus than today. It is essential that all health care providers and administrators demonstrate their commitment to health care quality. The rising costs of health care, its impact on American business and the solvency of the Medicare trust funds, in addition to the concerns about patient safety, inappropriate services and unnecessary readmissions, all solidify the need for Health Care Quality certification. Accountable health care leaders in physician organizations and groups, hospitals, care organizations, and managed care entities can effectively address this crisis by demonstrating their understanding of quality techniques and tools that can reduce medical errors, ensure patient safety, eliminate waste and unnecessary services, and avoid potentially harmful delays in care. The result is a safer, more efficient and cost-effective system that better satisfies the needs of patients, providers, purchasers, and payers.
