URAC Special Session


Immediately following the Medical Management conference, URAC will present a special session titled "Exploration of Outsourcing Healthcare Quality". Globalization has affected the healthcare field substantially over the decade. With domestic challenges to hold down healthcare costs while improving quality, and mounting international competition in healthcare business segments…dramatic growth is expected over the next decade in healthcare outsourcing.

The U.S. healthcare system is different than other healthcare systems in the world, just look at our unique structure from medical education and licensure standards to HIPAA security regulations. URAC, a non-profit independent organization and a leader in protecting and empowering consumers, promotes healthcare quality through its accreditation and educational programs. This new session is the first in a series URAC will hold in 2007.

This session will:
  • Explore the current landscape of outsourcing in healthcare today.
  • Identify Healthcare Quality Issues and areas for further analysis.
  • Contribute to the development of an ongoing process for assessing, monitoring, and improving the outsourcing of Healthcare Quality.

  1. What are the key issues/implications on this issue?
  2. What are the critical environmental/business drivers on this issue?
  3. What are your next steps?

The session time will be from 10:30 AM. - 12:00 PM. Seating is very limited. This session will be held in a roundtable discussion format with a white paper produced at the end of the year. Please note if you will be attending this session on your registration or when calling.
