Celebrate ABQAURP’s return to Las Vegas!

Vince Lombardi said, "Individual commitment to a group effort - that is what makes a team work, a company work, a society work, a civilization work." Teamwork is the ability to work as a group toward a common vision. Given the complexity of the health care setting, everyone --- including the patient --- must work together.

Join ABQAURP in Las Vegas…
Day one, hear the industry leaders discuss navigating the health care system for patients, purchasers, and providers to achieve an optimal result. Interactive panel discussions will address the financial, legal, and social responsibilities of providers, manufacturers, and payers when considering coverage for new drugs and medical devices, and what to do when a product is recalled.

Speakers will address how the Genetic Information Non-Discrimination Act affects purchasers and payers, and how social and clinical health care needs differ among Baby Boomers, Generation X, Generation Y, and Millennials. Learn how to implement systems of accountability in practice settings to enable reporting of quality metrics, and how IT can facilitate access to information across multiple systems. With today’s focus on “paying for the right stuff”, attendees will learn about the rationale behind non-payment for ‘never events’ and process redesign to address avoidable events.

Day two, join with leading authorities to demonstrate the impact Workers’ Compensation has on clinicians -- whether or not they are treating the injured patient. Hear from recognized expert physicians and attorneys who will address the medical/legal aspects of workers' compensation and the integration of overall medical management. Discuss the tremendous case management resources spent on Workers’ Compensation cases. Determine where Workers’ Compensation coverage ends and traditional medical coverage begins. The panel will discuss pain management, the assessment and treatment of the injured worker, post-traumatic stress disorder, traumatic brain injury, and legal issues. Pre-selected attendee questions (received prior to the conference) will be addressed during an informative and energetic panel discussion.

Speakers will address:
Medical devices, product liability, and risk management concerns for facilities and providers
Health IT initiatives and provider accountability
Patient safety initiatives impacting the perception of quality
Assessment of the injured worker
Treatment of injured patients and pain management
Medical and legal aspects of workers' compensation
Overall medical management integration
