HCQM Exam Scheduling

The HCQM Exam is offered June 1, 2021 through September 30, 2021, at internationally-located Prometric Testing Centers or you can conveniently test from anywhere at any time, using Remote Proctoring (ProProctor™). Prepare for Exam Day:
The candidate is allowed up to four hours to complete the exam. For compliance with exam protocol, ALL candidates will:
  • Arrive at least 30 minutes prior to the scheduled testing appointment. If you arrive after your scheduled appointment time, you may not be permitted to take the exam.
  • Provide one form of a valid, unexpired, government-issued identification that includes a signature and recent photograph (such as a driver’s license or passport). The name on the photo ID must exactly match the name on the candidate’s exam application.
  • Allow for digital photograph to be taken upon entry (to Test Center or remotely via ProProctor).
  • Not bring any food/beverages, paper, calculators, cameras, jewelry, watches of any type, cell phones, or any other electronic devices into the testing area.
  • Conduct sleeve, ankle, pocket, and glasses check; long-haired applicants may also be asked to lift hair to check for listening devices.
  • Not copy down any questions to take from the examination room.
  • Adhere to the time limit restrictions: a 10-minute tutorial and 10-minute break are included in the four-hour exam appointment.
Additionally, for Test Center appointments:
  • You will be required to sign a test center log and store your personal belongings in an assigned locker.
  • You will be asked to empty and turn your pockets inside out prior to entry into the testing room to confirm that you have no prohibited items.
  • Previous candidates suggest using noise cancelling headphones, if available and you are easily distracted, and to bring a sweater/jacket.
ProProctor candidates will need to meet additional requirements, such as:
  • Meet software, hardware, and operating system requirements.
  • Complete a system check and download the ProProctor application prior to test appointment.
  • Show your work station by providing a 360-degree environmental view including work surface and surrounding area.
  • Not leave testing area throughout the appointment without repeating security checks.
  • No 3rd party may be present in the room for the duration of the test.
  • Cannot have unauthorized personal items in the testing area.

Special Accommodations:
In accordance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and other applicable laws, ABQAURP will make reasonable efforts to accommodate eligible candidate requests for the HCQM Exam that do not present an undue burden to ABQAURP and do not fundamentally alter the measurement of the knowledge the exam is intended to test. To request special accommodations, you must inform ABQAURP of your needs in writing, a minimum of 30 days prior to your desired test date, with customary documentation establishing the existence of a disability and the need for testing accommodations at the time of your application using the Accommodation Request Packet. Fees vary based on the type of accommodation requested.

Cancellation, Rescheduling, No Show, or Late Arrival for Scheduled Test:
If a candidate cannot sit for their scheduled HCQM Exam appointment, they may reschedule with Prometric for a future date within the same year’s testing window, dependent on availability. To reschedule or cancel an appointment (including ProProctor), the candidate must return to the scheduling link, no later than five (5) business days prior to the scheduled appointment. Candidates must reschedule online, the scheduling system is available 24/7. Leaving a voice mail is not sufficient to confirm cancellations or changes to test appointments. Changes 30 days or more prior to your test appointment will be made at no charge. Rescheduling your test appointment within five (5) to twenty-nine (29) days of your test appointment will incur a $40 charge payable to Prometric.

If the candidate is a no-show, cancels less than five (5) business days prior to the appointment, arrives too late for test administration, or fails to bring required identification, the candidate may reschedule the appointment within the current year’s testing window by paying a reduced HCQM registration fee. If the candidate does not reschedule the exam appointment within the current year’s testing window, the exam fee is forfeited.
